ICC Note: Boko Haram’s leader, Shekau, released a new video this past weekend to talk about the Chibok girls, the Nigerian government, the Nigerian National Anthem, and the “non-believers.” After the video was released, Colonel Sani Usman stated that the video proves that Shekau is mentally unstable and that his end is near. Additionally, the Nigerian Army encourage the public to disregard the content of the video since the military has been making great efforts to rescue many hostages, including the Chibok girls.
9/26/2016, Nigeria (All Africa) – The Nigerian Army has demanded the immediate and unconditional release of abducted Chibok School girls by disputed Boko Haram leader Abubabar Shekau.
Army spokesman Colonel Sani Usman stated after Shekau appeared in a video released earlier today on YouTube.
He said the video has shown beyond all reasonable doubt the earlier suspicion that the purported factional group leader is mentally sick and unstable.
He added that the ranting is also another sign that the end is near for him which is part of the signs of all wicked people.
Usman said the Nigerian Army assures the public that they should not be bothered by the contents of the video clip.
